7 TIPS TO MAINTAIN HORMONAL BALANCE

Maintaining hormonal balance is a very important biological process to control many of the bodily functions. When these hormones experience an imbalance it leads to many problems such as weight gain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, digestive issues, insomnia, mood swings, low libido, and intense food cravings. When any of these reactions get out of control you have to pay more attention to your hormonal balance.
It is always better to be well informed of the problems that can occur due to hormone imbalance.Hence, we’ve provided some tips that will help you maintain your hormonal balance.

  1. Focus on regular sleep
Good sleep helps us keep stress and hunger hormones in check, while poor sleep is associated with the increase in the stress hormone cortisol. Hence, eight hours of sleep is always recommended. Also, ensure you have a pleasant sleep environment as this can have
adverse effects on your sleep quality.
  2. Engage in regular exercise
Experts agree that being more active can regulate hormones which are associated with mood and energy levels. Aim for a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise a week. Exercise also
helps maintain good health and fitness.
  3. Consume healthy fats
Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids are essential for hormone production. Include coconut oil, olive oil and avocados as well as oily fish (salmon, mackerel, trout), flaxseeds and oil, or take a daily omega-3 supplement.
  4. Say no to alcoholic and sugared beverages
Alcohols and carbonated beverages are highly dangerous to hormonal balance as well as health conditions. Avoid these completely if you want to stay away from any health issues in the long run.
  5. Get needed vitamins
Vitamins are vital for performing day to day activities. They also play a key role in maintaining hormones. The B group of vitamins plays a key role in mood and energy. Taking a B-complex supplement could help to regulate stress hormones.
  6. Learn to manage stress
Stress is an external factor that disturbs most of your internal hormone activities. You can manage your stress by engaging in activities such as meditation, yoga, massage, and listening to pleasant music.
  7. Consume foods that increase metabolism
Practicing healthy food habits can help in keeping your hormones in check. This means eating less junk and processed foods and more whole foods. Consuming high amounts of fibre, proteins etc. can aid in maintaining a healthy hormonal balance.
